NGO-Elysée Meeting: GRET Reminds the G20 of the Food Security Challenge
On Tuesday, June 12, Yves le Bars, chairman of GRET, met along with other NGOs, the President’s cabinet (Emmanuel Macron, deputy secretary general in charge of the G20, Paul Jean-Ortiz, diplomatic adviser, and Marie-Hélène Aubert, in charge of negotiations on sustainable development) in preparation for the upcoming G20 and Rio+20 summits in Mexico. Yves le Bars spoke of the crucial challenge of food security and the importance of fighting agricultural price volatility to secure smallholder farming system.
