The United Nations Climate Change Conference - Poznań, Poland, 1-12 December 2008

A New Rendezvous for the Climate: The United Nations Climate Change Conference, 1 - 12 December 2008, Poznan (Poland)

After the Bali Conference at the end of 2007, the international community is meeting again from 1 to 12 December in Poznan at the fourteenth Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Climate Change and the fourth Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol.
This is a key meeting to assess implementation of these two agreements and, above all, prepare the ground for the future agreement on the climate regime beyond 2012, which must be reached in Copenhagen in December 2009.

GRET will attend this new round of negotiations as an observer. You can follow the negotiations in “Echoes from Poznan”, a newsletter that will report on progress in the discussions, especially as concerns financing the fight against climate change.
GRET will also represent Coordination SUD to disseminate its recommendations on the Poznan negotiations, elaborated jointly with the Action Climate Network – France.
