Gret

Since 1988, GRET remains very active in Cambodia with a stable number of projects compared to 2009. This situation is particularly remarkable given the effects that the financial crisis has had on donors’ interventions in the country. The projects are still grouped mainly into GRET’s three traditional sectors of intervention in Cambodia: agricultural development and food security, microfinance and microinsurance, and drinking water and sanitation.

The year was marked by the launch of a Food Facility nutrition project supported by the European Union.

GRET’s team continues to grow, notably under the influence of the SKY insurance project. At the end of 2010, it was composed of 194 people. In order to ensure effective management in this period of growth, GRET Cambodia has received permanent financial support since September 2010 to support and train the local financial team, optimize and set up support and financial monitoring tools, and prepare for the change in computerized accounting systems planned in 2011.
