In Cambodia, GRET works in three main sectors: agriculture and irrigation, health and nutrition, and water and sanitation. GRET’s volume of activity in Cambodia has remained significant despite the transfer of health microinsurance projects to the government and the drop in public finance to support development in the country.
In 2012, the rural segment of the SKY health microinsurance project implemented for 10 years was transferred to local operators to whom the Ministry of Health has entrusted continued operations. The HIP microinsurance project for textile sector workers was extended until the launch of mandatory health insurance for the formal sector, slated for September 2013.
