Project

The action aims at improving food security by (i) an increased agriculture productivity and a better need coverage of producer households, (ii) by increasing the added value for operators of the value chains (from production to trading), and (iii) by a better supply of urban centers with local quality products.

The specific objective of the project is to increase the production and trading of rice and palm oil in Basse Guinée and Guinée Forestière, through the support to value chain stakeholders.

The project has been elaborated in order to support the actions of Acorh project in Guinée Forestière funded by Facilité Alimentaire until October 2011. It aims at consolidating the results and extending project activities for agriculture sector through capacity building of federations of rice and palm oil producers. It supports as well processing groups for rice and palm oil.

The project facilitates as well consultation between stakeholders at regional and national levels in order to support emergence of inter professional agreements and creation of a favorable environment for value chain development (agriculture, trade and fiscal policies).
