The FINRUR Senegal project aims to improve the economic situation of small agricultural cooperatives and rural households (members of the cooperatives union RESOPP in Senegal) strengthening the capacities of the Mutual Savings and Credit COOPEC, financial instrument of the RESOPP.
To strengthen the organizational capacity of the organization, the following activities are implemented: i/ diversification of the supply of financial services, ii/ the search for financial and organizational viability, and iii/ improving governance of the Union of savings and credit cooperatives.
The target groups and final beneficiaries of the project are the six cooperatives, the members of RESOPP, women's groups, associations, but also more generally farmers, livestock farmers and rural small entrepreneurs in Senegal.
At the end of the project, the expected results are as follows: i/ penetration of the COOPEC-RESOPP with members of rural family farms will be more important, ii/ the banking rate of rural households increase by 25% and iii/ farm families increase their level of food security.
