Summary
Family farming in the countries of the South is one of the sectors most directly affected and threatened by climate change. In the past ten years, the issue of adaptation, and especially of adaptation of agriculture, has become a big topic in national and international political agendas. Its importance in the Paris Agreement of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) bears witness to this, even though States have been evasive for the last few years about launching a specific work program on agriculture. The study was conducted by Laurent Levard (Gret) and coordinated by a steering committee madeup of Aurélie Ceinos (CARE France), Damien Lagandré (Gret), Bertrand Mathieu (AVSF), Didier Pillot (Montpellier SupAgro), Omar Tankari (independent consultant) and Jean Vettraino (Secours Catholique-Caritas France).
