End of the Food Facility Project in Cambodia

The Food Facility project implementd by GRET came to an end in mid-October 2011. The assessment emphasized its positive impact on agriculture (increases of between 30% and 50% on rice yields), the economic sector (increase and diversification of agricultural incomes for approximately 10,000 households), health (better access to health care for more than 3,000 rural households), and nutrition (an infant flour that is affordable for the poorest is available in two provinces and has already been bought by 5,000 families). This project shores up existing processes and launches new ones, but needs to be integrated into longer-term projects to sustainably improve farmers’ situations. A future issue of In Touch will be devoted to the outcomes of seven Food Facility projects in which GRET intervenes.
