Climate and Territories Summit in Lyon (France)

From 01/07/2015 to 02/07/2015

Nearly 900 people are expected to attend this forum. Rallying non-state stakeholders is one of the factors which will turn the COP 21 into a success. On the issues of urban development, informal settlements, makeshift neighbourhoods and their inclusion into towns and cities, GRET defends a multiple-stakeholder approach with social support, consultation/dialogue as well as strong community responsibilisation and awareness-raising campaigns.
Renaud Colombier, an urban specialist with GRET, and Minh Cuong Le Quan, an energy expert also with GRET will be defending the significance of territoriality for development- and climate-oriented initiatives. GRET is contributing to the French position on towns/cities and climate from inside the Partenariat français pour la ville et les territoires (PFVT), and is looking at the future sustainable town/city alongside the Groupe Initiatives.
