GRET participated in the 2nd edition of GEDAE, days of discussion on ecological sanitation and waste management in developing territories in crisis, organised by Cefrepade and Groupe URD from 9 to 11 July.
The 2019 edition will focus on subjects identified as priorities, in particular on electric and electronic waste management, dangerous waste management and ecological sanitation in refugee and displaced people’s camps.
These days brought together specialists from various horizons (regional authorities, development NGOs, humanitarian NGOs, foundations, donors, academics, etc.).
On the agenda:
- Tuesday 9 July: solutions for ecological sanitation.
- Wednesday 10 July: managing dangerous waste and electric and electronic appliance waste.
- Thursday 11 July: converting waste in construction and public works.
On 9 July, Marion Santi, drinking water and sanitation expert with GRET, will present Le Mémento de l’assainissement (Sanitation handbook), a work of collective capitalisation and formalisation of methods applied in GRET’s fields of intervention in approximately ten countries. The publication of this book is the result of three years of work.
GEDAE 2019 took place from 9 to 11 July in INSA in Lyon (France).
