Project

The Kingdom of Cambodia Ministry of Commerce wishes to set up a legal framework for geographic indications or protected designation of origin (PDO) labels in Cambodia, and allow agricultural producers, processors and those active in trade to obtain them to better optimise their products in the domestic and export markets. This legal framework makes it possible to fully optimise the potential of territories and rural producers in a context of globalisation. GRET has been entrusted with conducting the feasibility study through a prior survey of the principal products eligible for PDO / PGI labels and then prepare the decision-making elements needed for the Cambodian national authorities to select the most promising products for more in-depth study.
