Project

Mviwata, a Tanzanian federation of farmers’ organizations, is responsible for implementing the project. The goal is to facilitate the marketing of agricultural products in the zones targeted by the project. To do so, the project plans to build and renovate market infrastructures, support local institutional development in close cooperation with the local authorities, build the entrepreneurial and managerial capacities of economic operators active in the markets, and help establish equal access to market-related activities for all operators without exception.
GRET provides Mviwata with technical assistance for the institutional development aspects in connection with the local authorities, support-advice in regard to public-private partnerships to advise small and medium rural enterprises and contribute to public policies on agricultural trade. The aim is also to better integrate vulnerable groups so that they can take advantage of the opportunities created by markets while attempting to rectify exclusionary dynamics (people living with HIV/AIDS, unemployed youths).
